Question:
Is it normal for a diabetic to have nightmares when the blood sugar gets low while sleeping?
I have noticed that when I am awoken suddenly due to a scary dream or nightmare that my blood-sugar is very low. How does having a low blood-sugar change the way the brain thinks when you're sleeping? I'm trying to understand why this is happening. Thank you.
Answers:
Yes, according to the following article I read, nightmares are but one of several symptoms of low blood sugar while sleeping.

I disagree with the other answerer. Low blood sugar is at least as dangerous as high blood sugar. Plus, it's harder to predict.
