What is the doctor testing for when...?!

Question:

What is the doctor testing for when...?

I've had a few doctors do this, and can't figure out what this test is for... They squeeze your wrist near your pulse point and say "let me know if you feel anything in your fingers, or if you don't feel any numbness or changes..." Then they do it on the other hand, and say "Feel anything?" and "Are both hands the same or is there a difference in what you feel?"

Is this a heart thing, a neurological thing???? I never understood what this tests or what they are squeezing at your pulse point.

Answers:

Collateral Circulation. Seeing is you have good circulation to your wrist from both the radial and ulnar arteries
