STDs - getting tested???
I am curious, how many people regularly get tested for STDs? Have you always? Do you only go when you are SERIOUSLY high risk? Do you take your partner(s)? Do you get tested for everything, including HIV? How often do you go? If you don't go, why? What part of the country do you live in?
Answers:
In the past, no I didn't really go and get tested. Not even in college that I can remember. I got tested in Feb. afer I had what I though was a herpes outbreak. Turns out it was. So, now I have no choice but to talk to a future partner about it. I got tested for everything except ghonoria and syphilis. The Dr. advised me that if I didn't have any symptoms of those, that I could skip that painful test they do. I am currently with a new partner who is H positive as well. So, I don't see a need to go and get tested with her. However, I did advise my roommate to take her new partner to get tested, and she did. I wish I had been smart enough to ask new partners to go get tested with me. I live in Dallas, Tx
