Tinnitus at age thirteen?!

Question:

Tinnitus at age thirteen?

There is always a ringing noise in my ears, and it is driving away every ounce of sanity from me. I do not listen to loud music, and have never suffered any injuries that would have caused it, aside from passing out and hitting my temple against a metal towel rack. However, I am still skeptical that this is the cause of the continuous ringing. In fact, I'm not sure exactly when it started, but it has gone on for months. I have tried to ignore it, but I can no longer take it. Is there a cure?

Answers:

Go see a doctor. I've had tinnitus from excessive ear wax before, and it usually just needs a good cleaning. A sudden change in air pressure has caused it, as well. But if it's lasting for months, there may be something wrong. Ask an ear specialist.
