Is it possible to be allergic to alcoholic beverages?!
Question:
Is it possible to be allergic to alcoholic beverages?
After a night of drinking, the following day I am stuffed up, sneezing, etc. I thought this was due to the smoke in bars, but lately I am noticing it even when I drink at a smoke-free bar, outside, at my house, or other places without smoke. I don't experience the normal allergic reactions that signal a food allergy, but rather experience symptoms of a cold or pet allergy the following day. Anyone else have this problem? I don't drink often, so it wouldn't be a big deal for me to give it up altogether, but this seems so odd to me.

To clarify, I do have many allergies (non-food), including: cats, dogs, pollen, dust, ragweed and evergreen trees.
Answers:
yes. I am allergic to hops and it that happens when i drink beer. you could also be allergic to mold or other things that can show up in drinks during the fermentation process...take an antihistamine before you drink..(the non drowsy kind of course)
