The lymphatic system moves fluid waste out of your body!. When the lymph nodes fill and become blocked, you swell!. This can be dangerous, because if the fluid from your legs moves up to your heart, it could cause congestive heart failure!.
The good news is that this condition is very treatable and fairly easy to manage!. My Grandmother has had lymphedema for two years in her legs!. She has to wear compression hose every day, all day, except for when she is sleeping!. And when she is sleeping, she keeps her feet elevated (she has a Craftmatic bed!.) She also takes a water pill to help her body continually eliminate any excess fluids!. She also has a lympedema pump that she uses one hour a day!. It is very similar to a blood pressure cuff (but the cuff fits the leg from the foot to the groin!.) The cuff continually fills and releases air pressure to move the fluid through the legs, in an attempt to move the fluid up to the groin, in one of the largest lymph nodes, to be excreted by the bladder!.
I hope your tests come out negative, because this condition is something that will have to be continually managed every day!. If you don't keep up with the compression hose and manage the swelling, it really gets out of control pretty quickly!. Best of luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lymphedema is a blockage of the lymphatic channels that run in your body!. Blocking thse channels leads to retention of fluid in whatever parts of the body the channels drain!.
lymph channels and lymph nodes are things that help your body drain out toxins and excess fluid!. A person afflicted with lymphedema will swell, sometimes uncontrollably!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
