Process of an external tumor operation?!

Question:

Process of an external tumor operation?

My mother in law has a pretty big external mass near one of her eyes.We just went to the doctor,to make an appointment for the biopsy or analysis. The doctor knew right away that it was 100% cancerous without even having a biopsy done somehow,we dont really trust this doctor so me and my husband want to get another opinion. The doctor was in a hurry and didn't answer all the questions that my husband had.I just want to know the process of removing the mass? And the process after removing it?? Is it possible that only the mass carries the cancer and is not all over the system?? The doctor said that since the mass is so big the cancer could of just stayed there.I would really appreciate if you guys answer this questions,I'm hoping that somebody here went through a similar situation,so I could have this questions answered.I've already tried researching through internet, but I cant find information about this particular kind of cancer. Thanks!!

Answers:

the term cancerous is usually used synonymous with malignant masses and that can only be determined by thorough investigations and tissue biopsy. what the doctor meant was a tumour. nevertheless it is important to determine what kind of tumour it is if it is one. your description doesnt say much about it. it sounds more like a lacrimal cyst. process of removal will depend totally on diagnosis and extent of the mass. if its benign and superficial, LA would do.
