What are the alternatives to "SPIRIVA" (sp?) as a preventer for asthma!

I used to take Singulair and Advair, both were pretty expensive!.!.!.about $60 (US) for one month for the singulair and if memory serves it was over $80 for the advair!. Fortunately in the past couple of years my asthma has calmed down a lot and I don't have to take anything anymore!. I still carry an inhaler though, especially in Spring or when it's very humid or very cold!.!.!.

Get a nebulizer which you can use at home!. The medication is cheaper!. I use preventer (Prednisone) and have inhalers (Combivent & Intal) which I carry with me but a nebulizer which you use at home should replace that and the medication is much less expensive!. Mine is chronic and requires much more, that is why I take Prednisone and both inhalers and have sometimes to use the nebulizer also!. But a lot of people get by on just the nebulizer!.

Spiriva is the same as Atrovent (Ipratropium bromide) which is a longer acting bronchodilator used in a nebulizer!. If you currently use a nebulizer, ask that Atrovent be added to your routine and it can be taken as often as every 4 hours and mixed with your Proventil/Albuterol or Xopenex/Levalbuterol!.
If you don't currently have a nebulizer, an inhaler which contains Atrovent can be prescribed, as well as a mixture of Proventil and Atrovent, called Combivent!.

Spiriva is not an asthma medication!. It doesn't help asthma symptoms!. It is a COPD drug!.
You need to be on something like Advair or Symbicort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
