I'm a bit worried?!
Question:
I'm a bit worried?
Back in the 1950s my grandma had pretty bad TB, so she had to get most of her lungs removed. She just has 2/3 of one lung.
My grandpa also smoked quite heavily for about fifty years, and though he has since quit smoking, that is a lot of second-hand smoke. He's doing pretty well for someone that smoked for that long, though.
I'm just worried that my grandma isn't doing so well. She seems perfectly fine, but I don't really see her that often because I live so far away. She is in her mid-seventies, and fifty years of second hand smoke on 2/3 of one lung can't possibly be good.
I guess my question is not so much what can I do, because there is nothing I can do, but how can I help her out when she starts having lung trouble? I will be living closer soon, and I want to do what I can to help her, without being pushy or invasive (she knows what do do, she was in medicine for all her life, and is feisty anyway). I love her and I want her to remain healthy and happy for a long time.

I am an atheist, and anyway prayer is scientifically proven to be useless if they don't know, and actually harmful if they do. Thanks anyway, though.

The best thing you can do for her, or for anyone, is to spend time with her, talk with her, laugh with her, let her know you love her.
