It is unbelievable that a doctor?!

Question: It is unbelievable that a doctor!?
can get your private medical records without your permission!. It blows me away!. I shall never ever ever give them any info on me EVERWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
your information could have been forwarded to a particular physician if it was part of continuity of care!.!.!.example-you see dr smith for a backache and he refers you to dr jones an ortho specialist!. If you had a medical records release on file with dr smith he could send record pertaining to your backache to dr jones!.

Check the HIPAA laws and if you feel they've been violated, contacted the dept of healt h& human services!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO, a doctor can only get your records if you give him permission!. They have to have a reason and your permission!. I have gone to new doctors before and they would not treat me until I gave permission for them to get copies of my records from my other doctors!. They need the history and information to properly treat you!. I would wonder about a doctor that DIDN'T want to know what was in my records!. I was being treated by a different doctor for a minor heart problem and he ASKED me if I wanted him to give copies of everything to my regular doctor!. They don't automatically give it to every doctor you are seeing unless you have given the ok!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

!?!?!? What are you talking about!?!?!? I work at a doctor's office, and we only send records to another doctor that the patient has seen (or will see) - and then only if the patient or doctor requests the info!. The patient ALWAYS signs a records release form before ANY records leave our office - even if the patient picks them up for his own personal use!. That way, we have that info on file!. We don't arbitrarily send info to any doctor that ask for it!. This is because of HIPAA!. Check it out, it protects your privacy!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

not relay, depends where you leave!. some states and countries do demand persimmon and in some is default!.
However, a doctor is a confidant, and ideally they are to be trusted, however, we all know there are some, who will not keep up with good Dr!. reputations!.

to be on safe side, take few extra steps before choosing an Doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to go and see a doctor and become a patient before they can ask for your records, and then it comes under continuity of care!. Even then you need to sign a paper for release!. Otherwise it is a HIPAA violation!.
