I just heard a news story about tomatoes & licopene not being a "cure&q!
Question:
I just heard a news story about tomatoes & licopene not being a "cure" for cancer? I had never heard it was?
a cure, only that it helped ward off certain cancers which they stated is true.
Answers:
Lycopene was once a 'recommended' part of the diet of every MALE because there was supposedly a 'direct connection' between the intake of foods with high lycopene levels and the incidence of prostate cancer (ONLY MEN CAN GET PROSTATE CANCER). There have been more recent studies done that seem to say there is no 'direct connection between eating foods high in lycopene and the 'incidence' (percentage chance) of getting prostate cancer. 'They' (the wonderful people who 'bring us the news') are now 'backing off' from saying that Lycopene can 'stop' prostate cancer in most men. BIG DEAL. Eat your darn tomatoes and quit worrying about it ... there are lots of other good vitamins in tomatoes and other 'red' veggies ... and if we actually 'listened and did' what 'they' tell us we should do, we'd all be nothing but 'weirded out' because half of what they tell us is 'true' is actually also told to us to be totally 'false.'
