I asked my doctor to give me a METAPHOR for Flovent?!

Question: I asked my doctor to give me a METAPHOR for Flovent!?
I asked my doctor to give me a METAPHOR for Flovent and he said "Okay it's a fire extinguisher" WELL how can that be!?!? If Flovent is something that's used 2x a day every day, then honestly, how can it be compared to a fire extinguisher!? Fires don't happen every day!. It was an ineffective metaphor in my opinion and I'd like for YOU to provide me with a better one!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Flovent is a steroid and is use to prevent and treat airway inflammation!. You use it and if nothing happens then its working!. What your doc is saying is that if you have inflammation then the flovent will put it out!. You continue to use it to prevent more information!. If you kept spraying the same area with a fire extinguisher everyday, it is unlikely a fire would ever burn in that spot!.

So that said, here are some other metaphors for you!.

It's like insurance, you have it and pay into it and hope nothing bad ever happens!.

It's like an antivirus program!. You have it on your computer to stop infections and if one gets through it will fix it!.

Similar to owning a guard dog!. You have a sign saying "beware of Dog" to stop trespassers!. If you have a trespasser come on to your property, then Killer will take care of him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Flovent is your excuse to demand irrelevant answers from busy medical providers!.
How's that for a metaphor!?
Stop wasting your doctor's time with literary nonsense and focus on your medical concerns!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
