Possible panic attack or something else ?!

Question: Possible panic attack or something else !?
a little while ago i discovered something very shocking to me (its not like walking in on your parents or anything; its just a secret)!.

1!. soon after i began to cry!.

2!. soon after that i began exhaling and inhaling very fast through my mouth almost something like hyperventilation!.

3!. a few minutes later, my face, legs, hands, arms, torso, and even trouser snake became numb (how numb you may ask!? i punched myself in the balls like 4 times and it didn't hurt, AT ALL =!.=)!. its like that feeling when u sleep on your arm and it cuts off the circulation, that feeling!. also i was sitting at the time!.

4!. i also became very weak and dizzy just trying to stand up!. i almost fell over 5 times trying to walk up the stairs

5!. so i suffered around 30 minutes before i dragged myself to the bathroom and took a really long hot shower (i thought this would help stop the numbing and it did)!.

so does anyone have an idea of whats wrong with me !?

Answers:
It definitely sounds like a panic attack!. Try following some of these points if it happens again:

Rapid, shallow breathing can make you breathe out too much carbon dioxide, which may cause, or worsen, your symptoms!. If so:

- Breathe in and out with a brown paper bag over your nose and mouth (or use your cupped hands) until you feel better!.
- Don't breathe in too deeply!.

Ten tips to prevent panic
- Reduce your exposure to unnecessary stress!. Find ways to express your needs and assert yourself more successfully!.

- Change your lifestyle!. Take regular exercise!. Avoid stimulants, such as cigarettes and alcohol!. Eat regular meals and avoid processed foods and drinks, to keep blood sugar levels stable!.

- Don't bottle up your emotions!. Find someone to confide in, such as a family member, friend or counsellor!.

- Develop coping strategies!. Look into cognitive behaviour therapy, or other talking treatments; consult self-help books; ask about anxiety management courses!.

- Join a support group!. This allows you to share feelings and discuss strategies!.

- Learn to breathe from your diaphragm!. With hands on stomach, slowly breathe in through your nose while counting to four!. Your stomach should rise (not your chest)!. Breathe out, to a count of four, and your stomach should collapse!. Repeat four times!.

- Learn a relaxation technique!. First close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply!. Locate any areas of tension and imagine the tension disappearing!. Then, relax each part of the body, bit by bit, from the feet upwards!. Think of warmth and heaviness!. After 20 minutes, take some deep breaths and stretch!.

- Focus on the positive aspects of your life!. If you feel an attack coming on, try to distract yourself with a pleasurable task!.

- Don't depend on others for reassurance!. Tell yourself you're not dying or going mad!. It's better to rely on yourself and your own coping strategies!.

- Accept and face your feelings during an attack!. They will become less intense!.

This sounds like a panic attack or simply low blood sugar!. However when you have a panic attack you feel as though you want to go to the hospital right then, because it can resemble a heart attack!. I would go to your doctor and tell him your symptoms, then see what further advice he can give you!. If it turns out to be panic attacks, he can recommend medication to help with your anxiety!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes that sounds like a panic attack - hyperventilating can cause you feel very light headed!. If you feel this sort of thing come on again, breathe into and out of a paper bag and try to slow down your breathing!.
