Dealing with severe depression?!
Question: Dealing with severe depression!?
For close to 10 years now I have gone round and round with depression!. I have been on all the meds out there and everything else in between!. Somedays are so tough to get throught that sometimes I feel I might not!. I have a fear of going and doing anything involving the public!. Just getting through the work day is so hard anymore!. I don't like to be around my family or friends anymore because I cannot connect with any of them!. For any of you who are going through depression, how do you handle it!? Is it even possible!? I know your pain!. Been dealing with depression for years!.!.!.recently it got worse and I got placed in a partial hospitalization program!. Seems like I've been through most meds (and combinations of meds) with no luck!.
Something you might try (and I'm still waiting to see the results of this) is to get your thryoid tested!. My psychiatrist said often times thyroid problems will look like depression!. He sent me for blood work and sure enough, I had low thyroid levels!. He just placed me on Synthroid yesterday, so I'm still waiting to see how that affects my depression!.

ive delt with depression for a few yrs now n thought about suicide alot!. i didnt take any meds b/c i was convinced it would mean i was crazy & b/c i wanted to get rid of my depression on my own not with any pills!.!.cuz in my mind pills was just a "temp!. solution" to the problem!. honestly the thing that helped me was about a yr of consuling going every week or every couple weeks!. im not completely better but things that used to cause me to sleep all day n not talk to anyone no longer get to me and my anxiety is gone!!
so i suggest getting a good consulor that really cares!.!.it can do wonders!
