I'm on Amoxicillin, and the last two nights I've had a beer (each night)!. And both nights I've broke out in hives!. The WORST hives I've ever had!. Or is it just a reaction to the AMOX!? I haven't had beer in months, but I never got hives before from it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suppose you could be allergic to most anything, but I've never heard of a beer allergy in 30 years of nursing!. Amoxicillin, on the other hand, can definitely cause a rash to persons allergic to it!. Stop taking it immediately and phone your doctor!. If a mild rash is all you have, he may not prescribe anything more than benadryl for it, but he can prescribe a different antibiotic for you!. AND don't drink while you're taking it -- just like it says on the insert!.!.!.

My dads mom was allergic to whiskey!. This in turn means that yes, it is most likely possible that you can be allergic to beer, however unlikely!. If you are allergic to beer then you are most likely allergic to wheat or barley, and there are people who are allergic to the gluten in wheat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
what kind of beer are we talking about!? if it is budweiser then probably not bud is made from rice!. hops is wheat!. could be food allergy!. but more that likely the beer and the meds didn't mix!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
