i got my back brace for scoliosis about 2 months ago!. I started my period around 4 months ago!. I am 13!. How long do I have to wear my brace for!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on your curve and how much more you are going to grow!. When I got my brace, I was 13 as well and I had to wear it for over a year during the day, and then at night for another year or so!. My curve was at about 30 degrees when I started, but after my brace it continued to get worse, so I ended up having surgery a year ago!. It wasn't absolutely necessary but it was a decision I had to make and I am very happy with the outcome!. My best advice would be to wear your brace as much as possible even though it sucks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The more growth that you have remaining increases the chances of scoliosis getting worse!.
Your doctor measures your height and weight for comparison with future visits and monitors other clues to the amount of growth remaining such as the presence of breasts or pubic hair and whether menstrual periods have begun in girls!. On average most girls are done growing about 2 years after their period starts!.
However, if your curve continues to worsen even with bracing, they will have to decide if surgery would be beneficial!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Braces are usually worn until you're done growing!. It sounds like your doctor thinks that you have more growing in you and that starting your period doesn't necessarily mean that you're done growing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
well i am 24 and have scoliosis to it sucks and i depends on how bad the cerve is on ur spine that u will have to wear it Www@Answer-Health@Com
you will have to wear it till you finish growing !. which will take about 4 or 5 years!. usally growing stops at the age of 16!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
