How important is it!?!? Not very!. It is part of your immune defense system, but people can live a normal life span without the spleen!.

Whats the number one cause of it rupturing!?!? Blunt trauma - often car accidents

How does it rupture!?!? It is fragile!. When it is traumatized, it may rupture

Whats the easiest way to rupture your spleen!?!? Auto accidents

Can it rupture on its own!?!? No - not likely anyway

the spleen filters blood, but is not necessary to sustain life!. the spleen can rupture if someone experiences trauma to the area (its located just below the ribs on a persons left side) someone with a disease like mono is especially at risk, because the spleen swells up, putting pressure on the walls of the organ and making them thinner ( think of how much easier it is to pop an overfilled balloon than an empty one) it takes very little to rupture the spleen at this point!. and if it does, all the toxins it took out of your blood spill into your body and could cause death!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
