Question: How can I find out the Glycemic Index from looking at the nutrition panel!?
I need to know what the Glycemic Index is on products before buying or eating but I don't know how to figure this out just by looking at the carbohydrate amount!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
glycemic index is not listed as part of the nutrition panel!. I count the grams of carb in all foods used in a meal!. I try hard to keep the grams of carb to about 30 or less per meal!.
Starchy carbohydrates are the ones I eliminate first!. Grains, Rices, Potatoes, pasta, breads, cereals, carrots, peas, dried beans, soft sweet fruits, and most milk products!.
I know some of those are not high glycemic but do make glucose levels skyrocket for the moon anyway!.
Read all of what David Mendosa has to say!. Maybe even print off his Glycemic Index/Glycemic Load charts to take shopping with you!.

Not all products display the GI on the nutritional panel, let alone the product!. There is a handbook on the GI you could buy from a bookstore, this is a invaluable tool to have and very worthwhile!.
The Carb amount has very little to do with the GI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
