Help Please! I have a swollen gland about two inches below my right ear.?!

Question: Help Please! I have a swollen gland about two inches below my right ear!.!?
About three days ago a knot came up under my ear and has gotten bigger over the days!. It is very sore to the touch and also has my neck and shoulder sore!. Any ideas what this could be!? I went to the doc and all he said was its a lympnode and gave me a steroid shot!. I've very confused!. Other symptoms are head aches, slight body aches (stomach, ribs, chest), fatigue, very weak!. Any ideas of what this could be and why its there!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If it is a swollen lymph node it means your body is fighting off something so if your symptoms are spreading and/or getting worse I would go back to the doctor or try a different doctor you could have an infection and you don't want it to spread!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here's my story, I spent several hunderd dollars on trying to get answers!.!. thank GOD it all cleared up but took a few months!. IT WAS VERY painful! both my glands were swollen, like I had the mumps, sore base of ears burning then my neck got stiff, then the base of my skull started to HURT! I couldn't move my neck or head or even sit with out pain!! Its stared to go down my neck/shoulders!. hurt to breath in my upper back area and when I felt pain in my arm pit gland area, I had to start looking for answers!. They put me on anti biotics for 3 weeks saying I has a sinus infection but it didn't help!. I was taking Mucinex D daily and pain meds, it was terrible!. After 2 months it started to go away!. I wonder if I had a bad reaction to the high 500,000 IU dose of Vitamin D my Doctor had me on once a week for 8 weeks!? I think I should post that question, anyway good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
