i got a cold sore the other day and ive been using abreva and hydrogen peroxide and a buncha things!.!. and its helping a little but im hanging with a guy a like today and i reallyyyyy wanna clear it up as much as possible by then!. whats the best thing to do!?

DO NOT try to cover it with makeup if it still bleeds and is open!. This will make it look worse, and get worse!. I suggest you put take a hot, damp towel and hold it on for about 20 minutes!. Then put the abreva on!. Don't lick it, or touch it!. Just leave it completely alone!.

There isn't much you can do to get rid of a cold sore once it has appeared!. The anti viral creams based on acyclovir (Zovirax) are most effective when you first feel the tingle associated with a cold-sore!.
I have seen a product in the UK that combines an anti-viral remedy with a covering that hides and protects the cold sore!. It is called the Compeed cold sore patch but I don't know if it's FDA approved or available in the US!.
If you still have a visible cold sore, it is extremely infectious and I'm sure any guy you reallyyyy want to hang out with wouldn't thank you for a cold sore!.
If the photograph on your profile is you, I'm sure any guy you want to hang out with will be happy to wait for a couple of days!. If he isn't, I'm sure that there are plenty of others who will!.

Zinc has been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of cold sores- but it is best for prevention rather than as a treatment once you have a cold sore!.
Vitamin C can also help!. It is a tissue healer (as is zinc) and can be used both on the cold sore and by taking the tablets internally!. Zinc should not be used directly on the cold sore!.
Cold sores are part of the Herpes virus- this does not mean that if you have cold sores you also have genital herpes!. So anything that is going to help reduce a virus is also going to help with cold sores!. The one that I have found best for this is St Johns wort- taken internally or the oil (if you can get it or make it) used topically on the cold sore!. However if you are going to take St!. Johns Wort internally it is best if you are not taking other medications as St!. Johns Wort can interact with quite a lot of other medicationsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you might be over-doing the home remedies!.!.!.and keeping it too soggy to scab up!.
If it's aggrivated by all the attention - it'll stick around longer - not go away quicker
A little rubbing alcohol will dry it out!.!.!.if you're already scabbing - all the WETNESS of peroxide and abreva is keeping it from scabbing - and it needs to scab to go awayWww@Answer-Health@Com

u may be giving it too much TLC!. just stick with one product and apply it regularally!. they don't go away over night but the things u are using should help heal it faster!. cold sores can take up to a week to heal!. u can use either Abreva or Lipactin!. Lipactin does the same thing accepts its clear and cheaper then Abreva!. just don't kiss when u have a cold sore, u can pass them on that way!. make sure its gone before u kiss him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
