Answers:
It used to be that diabetics were discouraged from eating anything with sucrose (table sugar) because it was thought that it raised blood glucose higher than other sugars!. However, we now know that is not the case, that all sugars are treated pretty much the same by the body, plus we have new artificial insulins that work as quickly as natural insulin!. What we focus on now is eating a moderate amount of overall carbs, whether they are complex or simple sugars!. There is no "diabetic diet" anymore, and we are not banned from eating sugar!. We just need to keep it moderate and make sure we account for the number of carbs ingested so we can take the right amount of insulin or meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it is more a left over of when we didn't understand how the body worked as well as we do now!. If the body had too much sugar, then limit sugar!. However, now we know that carbs are converted to glucose and now diabetics are told to count carbs!. It is far better to eat high fiber, non-processed carbs than simple carbs and sugars!. It is the theory that simple carbs can be worked into a healthy diet!. However, that doesn't seem to be true for me, at least not yet!. I am still reacting badly to all carbs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because their pancreas cannot give enough insulin to keep the diabetics blood sugars under control, thus they have to watch their sugar intake!. Does this mean they can't have sugar ever!? No!. They have to watch sugar and simple carbohydrate intake, for example: foods made with white flour, sugar, corn, peas!. Portion control!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not true!. My husband was just diagnosed last month!.
He as told to watch his carbs!.

He was told by the dieticicans/educators to eat a certain number of carbs per meal and per snack!. It didnt matter if it was a brownie or a carrot stick!. it was the carbs!. And some carbs work different from him than others!. An example is he can not eat rice, white or brown it doesnt matter, his BS goes thru the roof!.!.but he can eat a small hersheys stick with no issue at all!Www@Answer-Health@Com

some foods cause a rapidincrease in blood sugar levels, causing imbalance in insulin productions and such, foods like white bread and sugar have high gi's
we need to have glusoce levels in our blood, but natural whole foods moderate it, notmake it fluctuate up and downWww@Answer-Health@Com
