Hello, congratulations on your pending wedding celebrations!

I am a licensed Pharmacist and saw your question!. It could be that you have an infection, an allergic reaction, or both!. My recommendations are to not wear any more earrings until your wedding day - to the hour before the ceremony if necessary!. Use some over-the-counter antibiotic ointment (ointment is stronger than cream) like Neosporin!. Wash hands and clean the earlobes before applying to the affected are 2-3 times a day!. You can use peroxide for cleaning also!.

If you are also experiencing any pus or drainage from the earring holes - go see a doctor for oral antibiotics!. If you are experiencing any itchiness, it could be more of a dermatitis caused by metal allergy!. You can try a course of over-the-counter antihistamines to see if the itchiness and swelling goes down some if it's an allergic issue!. Do not use any earrings you have anymore - trying to clean them off with 'surgical spirits' or alcohol, etc may not do the job and you can get re-infected!.

Try finding suitable earrings that are hypo-allergenic - there are lots of brands available, or the clip-ons for a while after the wedding festivities to see if that helps pin down the causes!. If it was simply an infection, new clean earrings, clean storage when out of the ear, washing hands before insertion and good hygiene will most likely prevent future infections!.

Hope this helps and congrats!

You can develop allergies over time with repeat exposure!. So it could be that you have developed an allergy to whatever metal you have been wearing lately!.

I finally found a pair of hypoallergenic earrings that I could wear (look for "hypoallergenic on the label!.) The first day I wore them, my ears did hurt!. But by the second day they were fine and I have had them in for a while!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can develop allergies!. If I were you, I would buy some silver earrings, anything that is of good quality!. But you clearly can't have gold, so don't buy any of that!. If I wear any kind of cheap earrings my ears start to hurt!. I wear white gold usually!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask your doctor for a course of antibiotics to clear any infection, then thoroughly clean all your earrings with surgical spirit!. if you have become allergic to your earrings you should only buy one with surgical steel posts!. Hopefully you will be ok with those!.
Best of Luck for the big DayWww@Answer-Health@Com

since you have a gold allergy, it is fairly obvious to me that you have developed a base metal allergy, very likely any metal earring you put in will cause that reaction now!. Have you tried Platinum!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

well it sounds like an allergy!. are you sure of what the ear rings are made of!? if i were you, i would stick to pure stealing silver or stainless steel ear ringsWww@Answer-Health@Com

It might be infected!. Try using a Q-tip to dab some peroxide on it and see if that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
