Can dogs contract strep throat?!
Question: Can dogs contract strep throat!?
I have strep throat and I was wondering whether or not I should be in contact with my dog or if I should stay away from him and get him checked by a vet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
Dogs do not get strep throat, but they may harbor Streptococcus pyogenes (also called Group A strep, what causes strep throat) from being around humans!. They serve as a carrier of it for human infections!. So, the dog should be treated when a family member has strep throat, especially if recurring infections occur in the human!.
Amoxicillin or azithromycin from the vet will take care of the strep your dog may be carrying!.
