Toxic fumes?!

Question: Toxic fumes!?
I started a pot of water to boil for tea!. I forgto about it for over an hour!. I ran out to the kitchen just now! there isnt any water in the pot - but i heard a long long time ago that if a pot was left on for too long, without any water or substance to cook, that it releases a toxic fume into the air!.
So, since it was on HIGH the whole time, am i safe or not
P!.s!. there was a candle burning in the same room!. And it wasnt coated with teflon or anything!.
And is the pot still good to use!?

Get a whistling tea pot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes the pot is still good to use but make sure that you give it a good washing (after it cools) first!. Unless it had a non-stick coating or some other chemical don't worry about 'toxic fumes!.' It's really just an old wife's tale!. My mom did the same thing when we were teaching her to cook!. She didn't know how to boil water!. Never had to learn until she got married!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
