Question: Type 1 diabetics only please!!!!?
Doesn't it make you angry when people consider type 2 diabetes the same disease as type 1!? I had nothing to do with developing my disease; it's purely hereditary!. Leading a sedentary lifestyle and making unwise eating choices until you're diabetic is not the same!.
It just really gets to me when that happens!. Like the other day I was having a low and was working and my co-worker is like 350 lbs and when I mentioned my low she starts telling me how hard her diabetes is to control and how hard it was to cut soda out of her life (ever hear of DIET soda!?!?!? but anyway!.!.!.) and THEN, 10 minutes later, she says her doctor told her if she lost weight she wouldn't even have to take half the medication she takes!!
I am well within a healthy weight range, even a little on the underweight side, I exercise and watch what I eat, and I will NEVER be able to stop taking insulin injections!. SO IT'S NOT THE SAME!

It does bother me from time to time to learn that most of my *Type Two* Diabetic friends could've avoided the situation altogether!. It also kills me when they pay $4 for genetic prescriptions, when I'm paying $500 for a threemonth supply!.
I think the only reason both are "grouped together" is because the health risks once diagnosed!. Blindness, the numbness in limbs, etc!.
We can only hope that JDRF and other diabetic companies can be better supported to where Type Ones can live a better life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know what you mean, yeah i have sympathy for people with type 2 diabetes but it's nothing like being a type 1 Diabetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You are probably going to get hammered by all of the type twos!. I get what you are saying, but some type 2's lead a perfectly healthy life and they still get diabetes!. You sound a little uneducated and a little resentful!. You are right, they are different, but that does not make one person better than the other!.
EDIT: Yes I agree with you about being resentful to the pharmaceutical companies!. I am sick of giving them all of my money too!. If it weren't for diabetics being their cash cow, I believe there would be a cure for diabetes today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, please know that not all type 2's are overweight when they're diagnosed!. There are many type 2's who were never overweight, ate healthy, and exercise regularly before being diagnosed with type 2!.
Back to your question!. Yes it does bother me when people lump type 1 and type 2 together!. Type 2 is more common than type 1, which also means it gets more public attention!. The way news media so loosly uses the word "diabetes" does not help!. People read news articles, and listen to diabetes being talked about on TV, and it doesn't always say "type 2 diabetes"!.!.!.!.just "diabetes!." Any type 1 (and a lot of type 2's) reading/listening to that know that 90% of the time its about type 2, but the people who dont have to deal with diabetes everyday dont know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
