To know indefinitely you would have to see a Pulmonologist or a specialized doctor with a P!.F!.T!. (Pulmonary Function Test) machine!. For this test you breath in & out following a tech's direction!. The machine measures how much volume you inhale & exhale!. It also reports the speed at which you do this!. With thease lung measurements they can tell you if you have Obstuctive Lung disease like COPD or a restrictive lung disease!.

sputum (mucus) production
shortness of breath, especially with exercise
wheezing(a whistling or rattle type noise) when you breathe in
tightness in the chest
Also, people w/ COPD tend to be "Barrel Chested"
