Answers:
I have genital herpes!. I've had it for about 10 years now!.

I used to use antivirals daily!. Now I only take them when I'm having an outbreak!. They are really the only medication that has been proven to reduce outbreaks!. Try anything you'd like - but I'd avoid paying money for any fancy over-the-counter herpes treatments!.

I don't know how long you've had herpes (I assume that by "type 2" you mean you have genital herpes!? You can get either type in either place, but HSV2 is usually genital), but the symptoms tend to lessen over time!. When I was first diagnosed, I had perhaps five or six bad outbreaks every year!. Now, ten years later, I have one or two - and the worst of those will be like the mildest one before!.

What this means, though, is that anything you do or take (or doing nothing at all) will seem to make the herpes symptoms improve over time!.

There are certain things that do trigger outbreaks!. So if you find anything that triggers yours (I never have found anything for mine) then perhaps you can avoid those things!. And keeping a strong and healthy immune system - by eating right and getting rest - will help every aspect of your life, including your herpes!.

For the first few outbreaks, I got super depressed when they came on!. And I would suggest, since you commented on that specifically, that you "treat" that symptom as well!. I made a point of seeing my close friends, who could give me emptional support, when I was feeling down!. And I just sort of gave myself permission to be angry and hurt and all those horrible emotions that can come with herpes!. If its been years and years that you've had herpes, though, and you still get really depressed during outbreaks, I would suggest that you DO treat your depression as another symptom!. Most folks seem to come to accept their herpes in time!. I know I have, and now it just seems like an inconvenience - like bad menstrual cramps or a sunburn!.

Just for anyone who hasn't seen it already, I'll put my fave herpes website below!. I believe that they have a section specifically addressing the emotional impacts of herpes, as well as tons of reliable info on herpes treatment and transmission!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have herpes!.

If I feel an outbreak coming on, I take valtrex and it makes it go away again!. It is as simple as that!. However, even if I don't have any, my outbreaks are physically mild!. But they still make me really depressed about having herpes - you feel like you can forget it when it isn't there!. When it is staring you in the face - or rather irritating your genitals - you can't avoid it and you just feel sooo unattractive!.

I have hsv-1, but I used to get a lot of outbreaks, about 6-8 a year, sometimes every month!. I started eating healthily and gave up chocolate and sugar (both known triggers) and the only outbreak I've had since was when I had a moment or two of weakness and had several bars of chocolate!. I was a complete chocoholic before - I couldn't get to 10am without eating a bar - I even went through withrawal when I stopped! But since I started eating better it has changed my life with regard to the herpes!. I always scoffed at the stuff people said about diet, but it is true!. I mean I love chocolate, but thinking about having an outbreak puts me right off!.

Don't feel so down about having herpes!. One in four women has it!. My sister has it too!. It is absolutely no different from having cold sores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have genital hsv-2, I dont really get depressed but I do get irritated by it, I've never taken valtrex r any other prescription meds, never taken abreva!.!.!.all I use is natural reatments, like hydrogen peroxide or just plain rubbing alcohol!. My outbreaks have never really been anything more than a burning sensation and maybe some inflmmation, and I've only gotten an open lesion 2 times since I caught the virus a liltte over a year ago!. Whenever I feel an "outbreak" coming along, I put rubbing alcohol in the area I feel it, and it goes away, or if its an open lesion i clean it with rubbing alcohol anf hrdogen peroxide, it will go away in about 1 day If I do this!. I also take immune booster supplements, like echinacea and other natural antiviral supplements like olive leaf and/or garlic, cinnamon, licorice root!. I believe they have all contributed to keeping my herpes pretty much asymptomatic!. QWhen I got genital herpes, I took it more as a way to learn rather than treat it with drugs I knew nothing about, I learned the the natural approach is the best approach, because only naturally do you have a chance at a cure!. There are cures out there, just look for them, if you believe there are only cures in medicine as in something your doctor prescribes you, then you have already lost the battle and you will never be cured, its not easy to find a cure, especially in a country where ignorance is bliss!. The truth is often hidden as a lie, and lies are glorious from the ignorant people who spread their 'knowledge", if they only knew the kind of manipulation they were under!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
