Normal sloughing-off process just speeded up!.
Everyones skin peels!.!.!.in little bits every day and is replaced by new skin!. The younger the person the faster the skin renewal!.!.!.one reason children's skin heals so much more quickly from injuries!.
The sunburn basically kills that layer or layers of skin which then separates from the rest and comes off - sometimes in really big sheets!.
Totally normal process but do be careful of the new skin!.!.!.if it's pink you can burn all over again or even scar!.
After a day of strong sun, some Aloe Vera gel (no alcohol!.!.!.read the label!) can do wonders for you!. Your burn probably won't all turn brown but you may find that your peeling isn't as bad and that more of the redness goes away than with normal lotions!.
No alcohol (in the lotion) is the key!.!.!.that will really dry your skin and make your peeling worse!.
Glad you got you enjoy the sun, though!. We're getting a bit too much here (in Oregon) today - expected to be 97!.!.!.blech!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It peels because it is dead now!. Due to the effects of the sun and you being outside, you killed a layer of skin and it is shedding now!. Skin is the largest organ of the body and it is living, until you do something to alter it in some way!. Use sunscreen so you dont get cancer if you are going to be outside!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because the skin is dead and you are shedding it!. You shed skin all the time, it is the major component of household dust!. Bed bugs live off the skin you shed in bed!. You notice it more after burning because more is lost at one time and the difference in tanned skin and the white skin underneath is quite obvious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Think of a heat blister caused by touching a hot stove!. Now imagine the suns rays "burning" your skin!. As the skin becomes exposed to the UV rays, the skin cells blister up, then die, shedding the old for new, fresh skin! Moisturizers do not help because your skin is not flaking because it's dry!.!.!.it's flaking because it's been burnt by the sun!.

ALSO: Wear sunscreen!. HahaWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think the sun essentially kills the skin, so it gets rid of the old to make room for the new =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

because its dead skin and your body grows new skin to replace it!.
Sunburn means your skin is damaged!.!.!.!.!.!.so you need new skin to replace it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because the sun burns a layer of the skin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because you have killed a layer of skin!Www@Answer-Health@Com
