Having unprotected sex with ANYONE puts you at a high risk for contracting HIV/AIDS!.
Unless you are trying to get pregnant, there's no reason for your man not to be wearing a condom!. If you're a guy who has sex with men, use a condom each and every time!.
The only way you can be sure if you have/haven't been exposed to HIV is to get an HIV blood test!. Do it when you feel ready!. My school of thought, which most people will disagree, is that if you feel fine than you probably are!. For instance, if you feel fine and you're walking around with HIV well there aint no problem is there!? It's when you start getting sick that's the problem!. However, most people say that early detection is the key and even if you feel fine you should still get tested, because you could still be HIV positive!.
I had mine done last October and I was negative, thankfully!. But it was a long time and a LOT of men before I had the test!.

secondly, the only person putting you at higher risk is YOU by making the choice to engage in risky sexual behavior (the unprotected sex, NOT Black people)!.
third, you having herpes most definitely puts you at higher risk of contracting HIV!. STD's weaken the immune system making it more difficult for your body to fight off infection!. and the herpes sores create a very easy route of entry for HIV into your body since it's an open wound!. so condoms, condoms, condoms!
