There is no real function of appendix in human, also mentioned in some theories that appendix has a little part in large bowel immune system, based on histological structure of appendix, most of the layers consists of lymph node like structure/Plaque Peyeri!. That's the reason there is theory stated that appendix has a role in immune system!. But empirically, almost all the people that has a history of appendectomy has no symptom associated with the immune system within Gastrointestinal Tract and the general systems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
