influenza can be interesting also, because its still around and everyone is susceptable!. you never know when we are going to have an epidemic (large scale outbreak)!.
In 1918, during WWI, there was history's most lethal influenza virus, and it was worldwide!. (moved with the troops)!. And the most interesting thing about this flu was that it killed people in the prime of their lives, the healthiest poeple (aged 20s and 30s)!. It killed100 million in 24 weeks, more than AIDS has killed in all its years!. The healthiest people were killed more often because the virus was so strong, the person's own immune system did a full on attack and it was the immune responce that killed the people!. therefore, people with weaker immune systems would live because the immune attack wasn't as strong!.
So, if you find that interesting, look up spanish influenza or the inluenza of 1918!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bacterial:
Clostridium perfegines (gas gangrene) OR Staphylococcus aureus (staph infection- very antibiotic resistant: its the super bug of all bugs)!.
One cool bacteria that isn't really deadly, but is a hospital nuisance is Psuedamonas aeruginosa: this bacteria actually grow and thrive in your soap, so a surgeon washes his hands, if the soap is infected, can cause infection on the patient!.
Viral: I would say HIV or AIDS, but I'm sure everyone will do this!.
The ebola virus, although rare here, when there is an outbreak can kill up to 90%!.
