The main one is the Americans With Disabilities Act (I forget the year it was enacted but just google it)!. This Act protects individuals who may be treated by others as if they have a disability!. So if someone thinks you have HIV and fires you, it is against the law according to the American's with Disabilities Act!. The laws that you are referring to with respect to knowing your HIV status and passing it on through unprotected sex, are based on state laws!. Some states treat that as homicide!. Some states have manadatory HIV testing for sex workers (prostitutes) and if they are arrested again for the same charges knowing they have HIV, then there is an automatic sentencing enhancement in some states!. Every state also has confidentiality laws for healthcare providers!. In the state of Pennsylvania it is Act 148, which covers when and whom a person is authorized to disclose someone's HIV status!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
