Question: Has any one had a,,,!?
Has any one had an upper endoscopy!.!. basically a camera down your throat to see whats is going on down in your stomach!? I am really worried about what is going to go on!. Please tell me about what happened when you went!. I have to go in on wed!. Please help me with your experiance I am really nervous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They usually sedate you some, so it isn't so bad!. As I recall I got a couple of valium or something like it!. They use a numbing spray and usually go through your nose as it is usually easier!. No gag reflex ect!. Just relax and try not to tense up, that will make it harder!. it is really not that bad!. I had to do it before they did my lung transplant and that was one of the easy ones!. Hang in there!. They did end up going through my throat, but that was not the first option!. I have deviated septums!. They did this one looking for acid reflux disease, and damage to my esophagus and stomach lining, so the camera was quite small!.
Now I also had a different one done at the same time they did a colonoscopy, and I was out for that one!. They may have gone down my throat that time with a bigger jigger, but I was out (conscious sedation)!. If they are doing that one, you may also have the special elixir that makes all good!. If not, ask for it!. LOL Can't hurt to try!. That time they were looking for something that was causing chronic stomach pain, so they may have used a bigger camera and gone in my throat!. I haven't had an endoscopy myself but i've watched one on an interesting programme on television!. It didn't seem painful at all and the patient was fully awake during the procedure!. I can understand your concern, but i really think that you have nothing to worry about!.
