Answers:
It is better to have it checked!. I had strep and didn't know it, I wasn't even running a fever!.

FOr now, try gargling with warm salt water and be gentle with your throat!. Hot honey and lemon water is excellent and soothing as well!. Honey also helps cleanse any bacteria that you may haveWww@Answer-Health@Com

Do you have a fever!? If so, it is probably strep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you normally dont have allergies then its probably the beginning of a cold or strep!. Check to see if your glands are swollen in your neck!.!. if they feel swollen then its definately a virus or strep and not allergies!. Try coughdrops to sooth your throat and hot steam!. If it gets worse go see your docter!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you had strep you would know it! You would have a fever, your neck hurts, it hurts so bad to swallow you have to let the drool just run out of your mouth - gross I know but it's true!. You also get a white film on your tongue and sometimes a rash!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

95% sore throats are of viral origin!.

The so called sterp throat that everyone runs to their doctor is perhaps less than 5% , even rarer is fungal!.

so belt up, gargle etc!. with viral URTIs (upper respiratory tract infections), some fever, malaise etc is usual!.

The other big group is whats called hayfever which is a seasonal allergy

very few sore throats need penicillin!.

BTW what did the human race do before 1940s when there was no penicillin!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sure a dr could answer the question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
