Mind answering several questions about mole removal?!

Question: I was utterly bored today during class and actually read on a website that moles can be removed with... Dandelion Milk. That sounds utterly rediculous to me but really, I don't know if that's fact or not. So that's my first question; does it work?

My second question regards to actual removal. How is it done? Do they freeze them off like with warts or do they have to be surgically removed?

Do either of these scar? And most importantly how painful?

Is there any risk to my skin doing it?

I'm extremely fair skinned and I mean fair. Which brings sensitivity like you wouldn't believe!

I have two on my neck that haven't bothered me till I hit them this morning whilst brushing hair.

The pain!

Having had this done myself, I think I can give some advice. First, there is nothing but removal that will get rid of moles. These are a permanet fixture on your skin. Getting them removed is very minor - they numb the skin around the mole with lidocaine which is injected with a tiny needle (and does not hurt) and then when the area is numb, they either slice off the mole with a scalpel or do a "punch removal" which is a special hollow tool that makes a circle and removes the piece intact down to a certain level below the skin. Sometimes, the open area has to be closed with a stitch - depending on the size, other times, it is left open and an antibiotic ointment applied while it heals. And yes, it leaves a small scar.

I can speak from experience, too, and would like to point out that it's important to have the moles biopsied in case of malignancy. Better safe than sorry!
