Excessive thirst?!

Question: can depression or plenty of gas cause you to have excessive thirst?

Answers: can depression or plenty of gas cause you to have excessive thirst?

Dear Kacie18,
Interesting question.
I've been a nurse for twenty-seven years. I've never seen flatulence causing excessive thirst. I have seen people who are diagnosised with clinical depression have various things that they do that can be compulsive in nature.
Do you have a history of diabetes in your family?
Do you eat a lot of process foods?
Do you eat a lot of fast foods?
Do you eat a lot of high sodium foods?
Do you eat a lot of foods with a high fat content?
Do you feel that you are depressed?
Take sometime to think about your habits, maybe, with someone who is objective.
The best of luck to you.
Take care and God bless.

My very first thought is diabetes! See your doctor soon, there is a simple blood test to dx. If this test comes back normal then your doctor can suggest the next step. Good luck.

Could be you're not drinking enough to stay hydrated. Could be you're having problems with diabetes. Get checked out.

I can't imagine why depression or gas would cause you to be thirsty. Do you have any other symptoms such as excessive hunger, frequent urination, tired, vision problems, dry itchy skin, weight loss or gain without trying? If so, you better see your doctor because those are signs of diabetes.

Hi there young lady! Being thirsty is just your bodies way of telling you it needs water or something to meet that thirst. But the depression and excessive gas is something that I would go see your doctor about. I'm not a doctor so I won't even begin to try and say what's wrong. Go see your doctor and let them give you the neccessary medication to take care of that. I hope that you have a wonderful day! Smile it's a very pretty one and don't let anyone else tell you different!
