Apparently Kylie Minogue was initially misdiagnosed as being free and clear of b!

Question: However, she decided to get a second opinion and they subsequently diagnosed her with breast cancer..... her actual words when being interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres?? "Because someone is in a white coat and using, you know, big medical instruments, doesn't always mean that they are right" ........... would you always seek a second opinion??

Yes, absolutely !!!
Usually your sixth sense kicks in and alerts you that something is wrong.
You should always trust your instincts, i don't how they work, but 99% of the time they are right.
Your Brain, Body and Guardian angels (if you believe in them), are excellent at alerting you to danger.

We all know some Doctors still have prehistoric ideas and a second opinion is always favourable.

Great to see Kylie getting back to her best - what a brilliant performer !!!
The lotus flower blooms most beautiful from the deepest and thickest mud.
Kylie always gives me the impression she is down to earth and got time for people. What a class act and an excellent role model.

The lessons you can learn from Cancer, scares the melanomas out of you:

1. Live each day as your last, because one day it will be
2. If life deals you a lemon make lemonade
3. Look for the good in people and overlook the other part
4. Ask yourself, am i really happy, if not why not ?
5. Try and do a nice thing for someone every day
(like the film PAY IT FORWARD)

Have a Greaaaatt Day !!!!!!

Kylie minogue is a parasite!
the poms can have her.

Most definately, If I thought something was not quite right. Kylie did the right thing as she knew there was something wrong. she obviously checked her breasts for any lumps as we all should, no matter what your age or size of the lump ( breast cancer does not discriminate). Every woman should know her breasts, its shape, how they feel.

I would recommend all girls/women to check their breasts every month and if you are suspicious go and see your doctor or a breast screening unit in your area asap.

yes,as my mums sister and great grandmother both had breast cancer,my aunty had a second opinion and she was lucky she did too!
my nan died of cancer and so did my dad,so I'm happy to follow up more just in-case.
The doctors were spot on the first time finding it,so not all diagnoses are wrong.I think you know within yourself if something is still not feeling right. i saw-that show too, early this morning.cheers :)

I think if i found a lump, and it was not a real good testing place, then yes, second opinion would be good..........

Speaking as a physician, I never minded my patients getting a second opinion. No doctor is perfect. A second opinion is always an option in the American medical system - though it may be expensive to double check everything. I would limit second opinions to serious things or cases where you think the doctor may be wrong. In my 20 years of seeing cancer patients, I was often amazed at how accurately people could guess what was wrong with them. Patients are often right. A smart doctor listens when a patient states his or her opinion.

As always it depends and you have to seek knowledge and make the best choices. I also believe if your in touch with your feelings ( mental and physical ) you do sense these things. Lots of good answers and I was really impressed with the 20 year oncologist and truly wish more Dr.'s saw things this way and were more like him because this would make the world a much better place.

Yep, I would. But does Kylie know that there are many people who are misdiagnosed? After spending the last 4 months in the paediatric oncology unit with my daughter, I have discovered that most of the kids in there were misdiagnosed. If you aren't satisfied with the answer you receive from your doc then definitely get a second opinion.
