What are the important precautions to be taken at the time of chicken pox ??!


Question: I've got chicken pox which was transfered from my brother. This is the first time that i am having chicken pox...if u guys got any good advice please let me know. I am not allowed to go anywhere, and am not allowed to eat hot food items.

And one more thing do any of u guys know why do they call it "Chicken pox".

No one is sure why its called chicken pox, there are a few theories:
-Samuel Johnson suggested that the disease was "less dangerous", thus a "chicken" version of the pox;
-the specks that appear looked as though the skin was pecked by chickens;
-the disease was named after chick peas, from a supposed similarity in size of the seed to the lesions;

I don't know why they call it that.

When I was a kid and had Chicken Pox, the doctor made me stay in a dark room, shades drawn or drapes closed, said it was bad for the eyes.

You can get over the counter itch medicine for the itching.

The most important thing in chicken pox is isolation. You have to stay home, and away from other people, until you are no longer contagious.

Your body will take care of the chicken pox itself. You will feel better in a week or so. No treatment is needed. Just rest and fluids. And calamine lotion if the itching is too uncomfortable.
