Can an underactive thyroid or capel tunnel syndrom affect your heart rate?!
Question: I'm having tests soon for an underactive thyroid and carpel tunnel syndrome....
A couple of (less experienced doctors- such as from NHS Direct) said they think it's anxiety, but the Doctor I just spoke to thinks that this is unlikeley because I don't show enough symptoms for anxiety.
Just now I woke up with pins and needles, like usual. I checked my resting heart rate and it was 110 beats per minute.
Could this be caused by the underactive thyroid and carpel tunnel syndrome?

Dinty was nice for answering you back so fast, however hypothroidism can and does cause an irregular heart beat. I know this because it is happening to me. Along with irritability, depression and EXTREME hunger. If you want to know more please contact me.
P.S. Did I mention insomnia, too?
It's treatable though.
Under active thyroid if anything should cause a slow heart rate. Carpal tunnel has no effect on your heart rate. Something else is going on, possibly a primary arrhythmia? or REM sleep?
Hypothyroidism would slow your heart rate. You would not have a heart rate of 110 with hypothyroidism.
