Normal pap and Colposcopy but low risk hpv does that make sense??.?!

Question: It's confusing alright. I think the categories for HPV virus are severe, moderate, low grade and mild. Low risk or low grade doesn't mean that you have genital warts. Your doctor should have informed you if that was the case, so you could decide on a treatment plan. Many pap tests do not detect the HPV virus--a seperate test is done at the same time as the pap to detect that. I suspect many females are having normal pap and colposcopy and still have no indication of cervical cancer. Your results are good. It's the monitoring that will continue to be done that will drive you nuts. And with the high percentage of males that carry the virus (and no way to test them)--sex won't be as fun. It's a ***** to be a female sometimes!

there are many strains of hpv--over 100 but only 16 strains are associated with the risk of cerivcal cancer

yes it makes sense. Low risk is genial warts. High risk is the kind that causes cervial cancer.

Chances are that you have warts(that are bening growths) on your cervics and they want to remove them.

I would call your doctor and ask to talk to a phone nurse - just to make sure i am right....let me know what they say!
