How can I heal redness left by acne?!

Question: I am a16 year old male and for the past 3 years I have had mild acne, now, finally I get the occasional pimple but for the most part severe breakouts are behind me. This is good, but I still have redness in my cheeks (which I've had since July last year) and some on my forehead as well. In the mornings I use Mary Kay Velocity Facial Cleanser in the shower, and recently I have been drinking a lot of water and applying aloe vera gel to problem areas. What else can I do, if anything to help heal the redness, and if there is nothing else how long do you think it will take for my redness to fade away keeping with the same regimen?

Your redness will probably not fade if you keep with same regimen. One of the best treatments for redness from acne is salicylic acid. You should change to a new cleanser, away from the Velocity cleanser -- it really does nothing for acne (other than mild exfoliation). It doesn't contain anything for acne: no salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or sulfur. I would recommend two things: buy the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Cleanser with 2% Salicylic Acid and also buy Clean & Clear's Advantage Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer Salicylic Acid Acne Medication. Aloe vera gel is good for very mild burns and soothing dry skin, but that is it -- it has no real benefit for acne. Change to these new treatments, give it two weeks, and see how it does for you.

Google the ingredients in the mk products and that's how you will know if you find mineral oil, lanoline, animal products, cologen then threw it away they will cause skin issues.
Arbonne is pure safe and botanical and safe to use and very little is needed but you should also wash and tone to get the very best from Arbonne
You can goolge our ingredients and see for yourself.

no one is all natural but arbonne is so close it isn't funny, we have to use preservatives and we use the least amount so our shelve life is only 2 years other wise you would have to stick it in the refigerator. Plus we have the highest quality botanicals money can buy and have been rated an A+ for over 25 years. No one can beat that no one. So do yourself a favor and check these products out you won't have to look any further for a great skin care line again.
We rebuild the peptides and put the elastisin back into your skin and no one else can or will be able to do this because we own our own formulations to work the oily t-zone and dry area's wrinkles fine line and age spots. That's why were so great!

I would also like to add to this, apart from the products recommended. If your main concern now is redness, please please wear a sunblock everyday. Your skin has inflammation from the acne and you need to protect your skin . I know this is the last thing an ex ance sufferer want to do. Go to a beauty therapy clinic and get a specific sunblock for the face, (they are generally high SPF and nice and light on the skin). Every client Ive ever had cringes when I give them this advice and it ALWAYS pays off. Wear a sunblock everyday!!! And you will notice the redness slowly fade over a few months, keep your face out of the shower. That is, when you cleanse rinse with tepid water only, dont hold your face under the hot shower (big no no) Good luck.
