Suviere Asthma- help?!

Question: I have really suviere asthma. I've had it this winter, now, for 3 months. I've gone to tons of doctors, and they put me on Pulmacort (which i'm out of,) Xopinex, Albuteral, and Singular. Each day, my asthma is getting worse and worse. I can barley take a breath in. Any breathing techniques, advice, or help? Please answer. PLEASE.

do some research at http://www.nationaljewish.org and http://www.ginasthma.com

Have you been tested for allergies, chronic sinusitis and GERD contributing the asthma? Have other types of inhaled steroids been tried? How about Advair? Pulmicort alone is not helpful for mine or my sons severe asthma...flovent and/or advair works better for us..we require the max dosage daily of 500/50 twice a day...and when in flares a puff of flovent or asthmanex is added each time. Also have they tried a burst of steroids to get the inflammation under control? have they discussed ADT with prednisone?

Do you have an at home nebulizer? You may need to give yourself breathing treatments at home. Go back to your doctor.

I know when you are having an attack you can drink hot coffee but call you dr and have them give you more of the precription you are out of. tell your dr how hard of a time you are having

ask your doctor to give you advair. It is a steroid used for asthma. I use it as well. It works great. Also, get a hot cup of coffee (back). Breath in the steam from the coffee. For some reason coffe is one of earths great gifts to cure asthma..lol. The steam from the coffee will help to open up your airways. good luck

Tell your doctor you want to be able to do breathing treatments at home.

Also, try drinking caffeine to get it under control. Try having a cup or two of regular coffee or soda in the morning and another one in the early afternoon. It has to be regular, not decaf. I drink 1 in the morning, 1 at lunch and my asthma has been under control for years after struggling to get it under control.
