RINGWORM- NEED HELPp!!!!?!
Question: I'm scared I might get ringworms. My cat has them and i accidently walked outside and pet her before i saw the patches missing from her. Please help me. I touched my eye- I don't care if it gets on my eye- I just don't want it in my hair. I took a very long, hot shower no more than 5 minutes after i touched my eye. I washed my hands for about 5 minutes before and after the shower. I cleaned my face, washed my hair thoroughly, and my body without missing a spot. I'm worried i might still get the ringworms. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE. help me. I will do anything. Anything at all.
OH AND- her ringworm is not red or anything. it's just a patch of missing hair

You probably won't get it based on what you did after touching her. Also, you have to be susceptible to it. Some people have better skin barriers than others. It usually affects children and the elderly more readily than a healthy adult.
FYI- I hope you do know that ringworm is not worms. It is a FUNGUS.
you wont get it. different species
well i dont know THAT MUCH about it but i did work at a vet and you def can catch ring worm from your cat, doing what ya did was good, and couldve prevented anything from happening but there is a SLIGHT chance that something MIGHT happen. Right now you cant do anything but what youve already done but if you see a rash on your skin(i dont know about the actual eye ball but i think u prob touched your eyelid) so if you see a rash-especially a "ring" of red or darker color skin then go to the dr.'s, so you can be put on meds for it. BUT you prob didnt get it- but r u treating ur cat or what???you need to have the cat treated....i JUST saw the last line you added in the message- r u even SURE its ringworm? - a patch of missing hair could be alot.Hope youll be ok- if the cat hasnt been seen- go get her seen, and watch urself for symptoms
