CPR....Question about CPR Ratios?!
Question: Okay....all you nurses out there or Medical assistants or PA;s or NP's.
You now how it works. THere is American Red Cross, American Heart Association and a couple of others I can not remember off hand..............but..........
Does anybody know the Compression to Breaths Ratios to all three.
I think American Heart just changed to 30 compressions to 2 breaths for BOTH 1 and 2 provider.......is that true?
help me out here. I'm arguing this with a couple of other folks...LOL.

You are correct it is 30 compressions and 2 breaths, however its going to change pretty soon and there will no longer be any breaths...
30:2 it was just changed
Yes, it's been changed from 15:2 to now 30:2.
im pretty sure its 30 compressions to 1 blow
Yup! It has been changed about a year ago. 30:2
And, all healthcare practitioners that were previously certified in CPR have to take the 4 hour class to get recertified instead of just testing out and doing the written test.
30:2 is correct
Studies have shown that blood perfusion to the brain is more critical than the minimal amount of oxygen given in an exhaled breath. That is why the ratio was changed to 30:2. Contrary to some other answers you recieved, the ratio is not going to be changed to eliminate breaths. That would just be stupid.
