Well with type one you could die, but you will get very very very sick first. If your worried you might have it go see your doctor here is a list of symptoms.

Increased urination

Blurred vision

Fatigue or drowsiness

Poorly healing cuts or bruises

Increased hunger and thirst

Rapid weight loss

Dry, itchy skin

Loss of feeling in hands or feet

well before i was diagonosed i had the same symptoms as you so you should definitly go see a doctor. Also use your moms blood glusose meeter to test your blood sugar over 200=very bad.

Lots of things, all of them bad. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to kidney failure and diabetic coma.

Death.

The worst case scenario is that the person can die from untreated or undiagnosed diabetes. In most cases the person will exhibit symptoms severe enough, that they will seek medical attention.

Untreated moderate to severe diabetes can cause blindness, loss of limbs due to poor circulation, coma, and death.

the can start getting gangrene
the can start getting gangreneous parts amputated
the can start getting dead

I know you're only 16 but don't you think with your family history to have a quick test to find out every now and again would be best and would it really be so difficult to try to eat healthily and regularly and as for excercise you only need to walk for 15 - 20 mins every day (briskly) it's not much. It would put your mind at rest. If you should happen to have diabetes there are people to help you to cope. Look after yourself now for the future. Nobody said you can't have an occasional treat or even junk food, just not every day. Your other answers are absolutely right, the results of not doing anything about this are very unpleasant. You can have a diabetic check at your chemist if you don't want to go to your G.P. Please get it checked.

Not all of your symptoms point to diabetes, but I think you really need to have a doctor do some tests on you.

If you're 16 years old, then it's most likely type 1 diabetes, which may not be the same as what your Mom & Grandma have. It has nothing to do with what you eat or what you weight. Type 1 can kill you quickly if you get to the vomiting stage, so go to the doctor NOW. Actually I'd advise you to go to the hospital if the doctor isn't available. It's very serious.
