Cystic Acne or Sebaceous Cyst?!
Question: Has anyone have any experience in dealing with this skin problem. If so, is it practical to have it surgically removed?
Is it better to have it surgically removed by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon? I am not certain since my child who is now a young adult felt something on her face which was kind of smelly. It was checked by a doctor and was told that it was sebaceous cyst. Since it's on the face, I am afraid of a few things. First the cyst and the smell might re-occur. Second, I am concerned about the possibility of a scar. Third, I am not sure if it is better to leave it alone since it may eventually disappear on its own.
Does anyone have anything to say based on what they know from others or from personal experience?

I had a cyst removed from my face when I was about 16. It was a quick and painless procedure done under local anaesthetic which left me with a very tiny scar - you wouldn't notice it unless it was pointed out to you. It is now more than 40 years later and there has been no recurrence of the problem. From my experience you have nothing to worry about.
