My heart rate goes up to 180-190 after 5-10 min with cardio. this isn't norm!


Question: im only 13 years old.. im at a healthy weight, i eat healthy and i go to the gym. i always start off with 10-15 min of cardio usually on eliptical or bike. when i put my hands on the heart rate meter im already at 180 or 190 when me dad goes up to 150 after half an hour on cardio! im shy to put my hands there now.. is this a problem? what should i do? help : /

There is no problem and what you describe is absolute 100% normal. God only knows where the other Answer got his info from/

Look it up on Wikipedia. You're NORMAL

Mine does the same thing and I work out every day. You are actually hurting yourself by letting it go that high. You should google target heart rate and go to that maximum. If you go too high then you actually won't have as effective of a work out.
