the usually age of smokers is from 60-70. Of course, theres a bigger change of you getting cancer in ur throat and lungs. Which will make you die sooner.

I am 60 and started smoing 46 years ago.

1/4 pack a day is nothing you would live just as long as people who dont smoke. the serious smokers are the ones who smoke 2 or more packs a day and they usually die at a younger age.

That is impossible to answer.... there are smokers who live long and relatively healthy lives. Are you increasing your risk of heart disease, some cancers, emphysema, asthma, stroke, etc. ? Yes. I too have smoke for many years and have quit now ( Only 6 weeks ago - so I can't say for sure if I will stay quit ). I did it with hypnosis. The guy above is incorrect. The amount you smoke lessens your risk of certain afflictions but not others. All smoke is dangerous. BTW it takes 15 years to outlive the cancer risk from the day you quit, but your heart and lungs begin improving very quickly

no way to tell, many can live and die very old...on the other hand many people that never smoked in their lives died by cancer in their lunges..

i would suggest cutting down on the amount you smoke. because that really is a lot. but i saw on tv like four brothers and sisters or something that all lived for over 90 years and were all smokers. but they were probably just lucky...

but everyone knows smoking is bad, so i think it would be in your best interest to cut down or just quit.

hey i'm there with ya hun.i'm 29 yrs old and been smoking since i was 19 yrs old...i think your question should be based on wether you have been diagnosed with a medical condition..like copd, asthma, heart disease,so forth anything that regards the major organs that every puff of ciggerette your taking is depriving of the fresher air your main organs are being deprived of..your heart, lungs and your brain.if you anything wrong with either them well,i think you should slowly try and quit smoking.my mother had been a solid smoker since she was 21yrs old and she's 58 now and she has heart disease, copd, asthma and well she's a severe diabetic and she stopped smoking cause the doctor told her that her heart is very weak and malnurished due to the years of her smoking habits.
