Best way to handle a belly earring ripped from the navel?!

Question: A friend of mine was at a party on a beach. She was walking around and turned down some drunk guy that was talking with her. He got upset, called her a bunch of words including "stuck up" and she just stood there laughing at him.

He then slapped her, grabber her belly earring (pretty big like a chain an inch or so long) and ripped it right out of her navel. LOTS of blood everywhere. He took off with his buddies and he wasn't seen again.

Now her navel is all bandaged up and there is this rip right above the top of it. Has anyone have any experience in healing this with minimal if none scar tissue?

I had a belly ring rip out when I was dancing about 5 years ago. It got caught on my pants and just pulled out. It was extremely bloody and I put a ton of peroxide and neosporin on it. The skin healed together, and it is fine now. I just have a little scar and could get it pierced again (although I don't want to!). I talked to piercing places and they said that this is quite a common problem with belly rings.

Scream.

She needs to go to the doctor make sure it does not need stitches!! and if not keep it clean and put antibiotic cream on it keep it covered also..

Call the docter. :D

aaaooouuuch

Yeow! That sucks.

Yeah, see a doctor.

Yes and no.

Very carefully....it might have picked up something upon landing on the ground. I wouldn't replace it. Get some stitches...or a band aid.

Stitches (if done early enough) would limit scars.

I puked after reading that

ugh thats horrible!!! lots of neosporin and then once its healed Mderma for the scar, onions (eating them) also help to heal... she should be as healthy as possible during the healing process. good luck! but i agree, she should see a doctor if possible, even if it is just to help with the scar, I would also call the police but thats just me... i mean if your still at the beach.

put a lot of ice on it, and keep it on, it will be cold but thats been prooven to heal the best. when it scars, then put first aid cream on it.. sounds painful

OH ****!! i would have killed him!!
this happened to my friend (not the story) like it got stuck on a lacey shirt and it got ripped out but its fine, it has a rip like to pieces of skin but yea..

Hospital! A&E, ER, whatever. It happened to my sister and it's not just a cut you can cover with a bandage.. My sister was sent to hospital in an ambulace with muscle hanging from the wound. The cut your friend has will be deep enough to need to be held back together. My sisters tummy was glued back together and she was kept and eye on for sickness before being sent home.

Well, I think that the first thing that you should do is beat the **** out of the guy that did it. Just because she turned him down doesn't mean that he has the right to go off on her and be an a$$.

Just make sure she cleans it every day with an anti-bacterial soap (Like Band-Aid cleaner). This will delay the healing process by possibly a few months, but it will prevent scar tissue. Make sure she cleans it twice a day. She can clean it once a day after about three months. And have her put Neosporin on it. I believe that there is a Neosporin out specifically for preventing scarring.

oh that ******* sucks,id kick his *** n rip out his liver

No,just a small tear in the ear lobe, but she should care for it very well and keep it real clean, I would consult a piercing shop, I'm sure they have had some kind of experience in this area, unfortunately.
Hopefully she can end up keeping a ring or re-piercing her navel, 'cause it's beautiful to wear jewelry, like pierced ears.
But the first consideration should be healing without infection or scarring.
And oh yeah, what a ************* jerk bastard!

And so, kids, we have another in a long list of good reasons to not stick dangly bits of metal through your flesh.

She may want to visit a doctor to minimize scarring, he may put in a small stitch or two and advise her to keep it marinating in Neosporin or some other antibiotic.

Oh yeah, get back down to the beach with a few friends, find that jackass, and rip a few holes in some of his favorite fleshy parts. With any luck he'll be wearing a Prince Albert :-] Ripe for the rippin', baybee....

u r a cocks ucker fag
