Do you take a daily aspirin for your heart?!

Question: Did your doctor tell you to do this or did you decide to do it on your own? Also, do you take one regular or one baby aspirin?

Corona,
Yes, I do. My Dr. suggested I do it. I'm 45 and have had high blood pressure for several years. It runs in the family. I even had mild high bp when I was fairly fit.

I don't take a regular one or a baby one. Both of those get dissolved and metabolized in your system over only about 4 hours. Most drug companies make little tiny ones now that dissolve slowly over the course of a day and are just the right amount that is beneficial to your heart - which is 81 mg.

also - just for completeness of the story - yes I am on high bp medicine as well. I take one called hyzaar. Other than getting me up an extra time or two at night, which I end up doing anyway because the dogs need to run outside for a moment as well, and causing me to need another half hour or so of sleep, it has virtually no side effects.

One baby aspirin. On my own

The Dr. told me to take one everyday. I take a reg. size one. Wish I had thought to take one a few years ago. I might not have had a heart attack.

I do. Dr suggested it just b/c my dad died of a massive heart attack at the age of 53, but he also drank, smoked & had a chronic heart condition, but I just take it as an added precaution
